Withdrawal and Retraction Policy
The International Journal for Development of Science and Technology (IJDST) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of its published research. Manuscript withdrawal and article retraction are considered carefully and are undertaken when justified by academic, ethical, or publishing concerns.
1. Manuscript Withdrawal before Publication
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication by submitting a written request to the Editorial Office with a valid reason. Withdrawal requests should be made promptly and with the consent of all authors. Requests made after the review or publication process has substantially progressed may be subject to editorial consideration.
2. Withdrawal Due to Misconduct
IJDST may withdraw a manuscript when there is evidence of plagiarism, duplicate submission or publication, fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, peer-review manipulation, or other forms of academic or publication misconduct.
3. Article Retraction
A published article may be retracted when reliable evidence indicates that its findings, data, conclusions, or publication process are seriously compromised. Retraction may be considered in cases involving major errors, research misconduct, unethical research practices, or serious violations of publication ethics.
4. Retraction Procedure
The Editorial Board will review the available evidence before making a retraction decision. Where appropriate, the authors may be given an opportunity to respond. If retraction is considered necessary, a formal retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article, clearly explaining the reason for the retraction.
5. Post-Publication Corrections
Not every error requires retraction. When an error does not affect the main findings or conclusions of an article, IJDST may publish a correction or erratum to maintain the accuracy of the published research record.
6. Editorial Responsibility
All withdrawal and retraction decisions will be handled fairly, objectively, and confidentially. The Editorial Board will consider the nature and seriousness of the issue and its potential effect on the integrity of the published research.
7. Author-Initiated Retraction
Authors who identify a serious error or ethical concern in their published article should promptly notify the Editorial Office. The journal will assess the matter and determine the appropriate action.
8. Policy Updates
IJDST may periodically review and update this policy to reflect developments in publication ethics, research integrity, and recognized publishing practices.
